"Our Vacation of a Lifetime 

to

Key West, Florida"

On February 3, 2000 my mom, dad, two brothers and I packed up

the van and headed south. We left our home in southeast New York

while it was snowing heavily and temperatures were in the teens. Two

days later we arrived in Key West, Florida to find sunny skies and the

temperatures in the seventies.

We stayed in this paws-itively gorgeous suite on 707 Truman Ave

The Chelsea House was what they called it. The room came complete

with a private balcony that was perfect for us to rest our tired little

bodies on after a long fun filled day. The staff was very friendly. And

friendliness is very important to us dogs.

When out on the town the natives were wonderful. We ate at some

of the best restaurants. We ate at Mangoes and Papas. The waiter at

the restaurant Mangoes brought us all out our own pretty crystal

bowls filled with plenty of ice water when he brought out mom and

dad's drinks. They asked to pet us and told stories about their own

furry companions. Aren't humans cute?

One of the other great places we went was the Key West

Aquarium on one Whitehead St.. There were all kinds of fish. They

have these fun touch tanks. All kinds of critters swimming in what

appeared to be a big water bowl. (But, dad said,"leave it.") There was

even daily shark feedings. My mom and dad pet one of the sharks. It

was a real cool place.

We went on many long walks. One time we went to a doggie

beach. My brothers went for a swim. And as you know I am not so

talented in the swimming area. But it was still lots of fun. We also

went to the Sunset Deck on Mallory Square. Mom and dad bought us

all, these really cool hats from this one really cool vendor. They called

themselves ClassyCaps. Everybody just loved us in our caps. My big

brothers got tye dyed caps and dad picked out one with little hearts

for me.
